  As Corinna say, you seem to have skipped over the cutting and pasting
stage.  Sorry, I thought you'd done that.

  With the pubring.asc, you can do this bit:

  and cut'n'paste it into stdin (or redirect it from a file).
                                 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

... like so:

gpg --import < pubring.asc
