On a related note, while searching for (an easy) way to do this, I found an awesome but ill-documented feature to do so: Luckily, perl was compiled with the USE_SITECUSTOMIZE option, so all I have to do is create a file called sitecustomize.pl and stick it in one of the existing @INC dirs. The file is a perl script that will push a dir to the @INC array as follows:
#!/usr/bin/perl
BEGIN { push @INC, "/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl";
}

This will not work with the current perl-5.10 anymore, because I removed USE_SITECUSTOMIZE.


You'll have to use env PERL5LIB=/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl
or better fix your tools which install into this wrong dir.
