Re: SFTP - Maintaining Windows file permissions

Scott D Friedemann wrote:
When a user uploads a file via SFTP, the file has permissions only for the user who uploaded it. If another users tries to upload a new version, he gets a permissions error.

Is it possible to set the default so that the Windows file permissions for the directory are followed?

See 'nontsec' in <http://cygwin.com/cygwin-ug-net/using-cygwinenv.html>
for Cygwin 1.5 or 'noacl' in <http://cygwin.com/1.7/cygwin-ug-net/using-utils.html#mount> for Cygwin 1.7.

Or is there another method to use so that all users have write access to the files?

How about chmod/chgrp/chown? This is the way to do it from sftp.
