Re: /usr/bin/emacs-X11: cannot execute binary file

Ken,

Thank you.

Running:
  /usr/bin/emacs-X11
from the command line has no effect that I can see. Subsequently typing
  echo $?
results in:
  127
I checked ls -l of /usr/bin/emacs*
  lrwxrwxrwx 1 BelkP01 Domain Users 23 Sep 8 21:42
/usr/bin/emacs -> /etc/alternatives/emacs
 -rw-r--r-- 1 BelkP01 Domain Users 52028 Aug 27 07:33 /usr/bin/emacs.ico
 -rwxr-xr-x 1 BelkP01 Domain Users 17437 Aug 27 07:34
/usr/bin/emacsclient.exe
 -rwxr-xr-x 1 BelkP01 Domain Users 17127965 Aug 27 07:33 /usr/bin/emacs-nox.exe
 -rwxr-xr-x 1 BelkP01 Domain Users 17593373 Aug 27 07:34 /usr/bin/emacs-X11.exe

I'm afraid I don't know how to check the status of the postinstall
scripts. There were no problems reported during the installation, and
I saw nothing in /var/log/setup.log that seemed strange.

I have enclosed a new version of cygcheck.out

So sh complains that you gave it a binary file instead of a file
containing shell commands.

What happens if you just type '/usr/bin/emacs-X11'? And what's the
output of 'ls -l /usr/bin/emacs*'? Also, can you check that all your
postinstall scripts have run successfully? They should all end in
'.done'. Finally, please resend the output of 'cygcheck -svr'; the
attachment in your previous email seems to have gotten truncated.
