Hi!

Most of the people working with CVS like the optimistic
non locking nature and the merging functionalities of
CVS (well actually me too ;-).

But as soon as you work with DocBook or any other XML
format, you have take extra care about merging. Most
of the time the merging works pretty good on source
code, but merging with XML is quite more complicated.
You could end up with invalid documents very fast, since
the merging algorithms doesn't care about any DTD ;-) I
remeber someone has posted an XML-Diff tool to this
list, but I can't remember who it was and where to get
it. It might be a good help for you in case of merging
problems.

We use CVS and DocBook since several months an until
now everything works very fine. Even the oldes commercial
oriented mangers of us ("If it doesn't cost nothing, it
will not work!") are now suprised how good everything
works ;-)
