Re: Help please: new user questions


Ditto here, as well.

Markus has provided an amazingly useful tutorial for getting up to speed with
the standard (Linux-oriented) tools for creating and publishing documents from
both XML and SGML source files.

Furthermore, he has a similar tutorial specifically for windows users. The
additional effort required to install the cygwin tools (Unix on Windows) is
minimal and is well worth the (minimal) time spent installing cygwin. Of course,
all of this is covered in great detail at Markus' site.

Time and again I've referred interested folks to Markus' site, and have been
thanked many times over for doing so. His stuff is truly a great contribution to
the community. 

You do have to read and absorb a fair amount of material, but the time spent is
well worth it. Be patient, follow his instructions and you'll not be
dissapointed.
