I don't think so, because this customization just fixes errors in a 
markup. Using this modification you would be for example unable to 
specify blank line as a first or last line of programlisting or screen. 
This is not common requierement but still reasonable one. Correct way of 
marking is:

<screen>First line of screen
Other lines
Last line of screen</screen>
