Re: [docbook-apps] Assistance with catalog entries...

You need to add the xml.dcl file ahead of your
xml file on your command line.

Subject: [docbook-apps] Assistance with catalog entries...

Hi all,

I?m trying to compile a docbook document on a new fedora installation, and am having problems.  I don?t have any guided experience with docbook, so my successes to date have been accidental at best.  Please bear with me.

I?ve written the document in xml, but I?ve never been very successful with the results from xml, so I actually process it like an sgml document (with openjade/jw) which has produced more predictable results.

While my old installation works just fine, there are the results I get from my new install:

jw -b pdf --dsl stylesheets/dsl/mbcookbook-docbook-utils.dsl mbcookbook.xml

Using catalogs: /etc/sgml/xml-docbook-4.1.2-1.0-22.1.cat

Using stylesheet: /home/vschmidt/sandbox/mb-cookbook/stylesheets/dsl/mbcookbook-docbook-utils.dsl

Working on: /home/vschmidt/sandbox/mb-cookbook/mbcookbook.xml

jade:/usr/share/sgml/docbook/xml-dtd-4.1.2-1.0-22.1/ent/iso-lat1.ent:6:19:E: "X00E1" is not a function name

jade:/usr/share/sgml/docbook/xml-dtd-4.1.2-1.0-22.1/ent/iso-lat1.ent:7:19:E: "X00C1" is not a function name

jade:/usr/share/sgml/docbook/xml-dtd-4.1.2-1.0-22.1/ent/iso-lat1.ent:8:18:E: "X00E2" is not a function name

jade:/usr/share/sgml/docbook/xml-dtd-4.1.2-1.0-22.1/ent/iso-lat1.ent:9:18:E: "X00C2" is not a function name

?..

The iso entities referred to above come from the smgl-common rpm.  I?ve read around a bit and found that there are differences between those used for sgml and xml.  The ones referred to above are for xml, and presumably since I?m processing the document as an sgml document, that?s my problem.

But I can?t figure out what to do about it.

Any help anyone could provide would be wonderful
