I've written a description of using XInclude and olinks to create modular
DocBook books.  See this reference:

http://www.sagehill.net/docbookxsl/ModularDoc.html

It means you don't have to have any special features in your XML editor, but
it does mean your XSLT processor must be able to handle XIncludes.
