Please excuse the administrivia. (I've searched around
oasis-open but can't see any manual way of contacting the
lists administrator.)
Every time I send an email to this list I reap a
hundredfold the volume in unsolicited mail from people
like Mr Bent Cock & Miss Ophelia Dick. Once I even got an
email from the bunny working the controls at Bellsouth[1].
I realize this is a private mailing list but I think it's
being mined for email addresses. So I'd like to munge
my mail address. Other mailing lists have allowed me
to unsubscribe from the list and post using the mail-to-news
gate at gmane.org. Is this also possible with oasis lists?
[1] I'm of the firm belief that artificial intelligence
is an oxymoron . I remember years ago laughing with
a friend who had the misfortune to work for a
government department. He was composing a report
which contained the number "three and one-hag" and
MS Word had the effrontery to say he was a sexist.
I guess things haven't improved much when a mail bot
deep in the bowels of Bellsouth bounces my mail because
"it either contained a virus, spam, pornography, or was
offensive." Well guess what Mr Automatic Mail Bot:
1) my mails are none of the above;
2) if they were, I still refuse to be censured
by a machine;
3) Bent and Ophelia (mentioned above) are much much
smarter than you. They use metaphors in their
advertising, never mention Viagra, and pad out
the email with several paragraphs of random words
so they can bypass any baysian filters that you may
be using;
so it's time you learnt your place in the food chain .
