This doesnt concur with my experience Im using Saxon 6 and Javahelp 2.0 on Windows and I am getting the problem.

2.0 if it is represented natively in UTF-8 or as a character reference
(™).


From my experience, both Saxon and xsltproc always output ™. But Xalan
on the other hand stubbornly outputs the unwanted HTML entity, and I haven't
found a way to get around this.
