[docbook-apps] New to DocBook and XML

Dear all,

I don't know if my queries befit this list. However, I need some
assistance and guidance. I am a beginner who had earlier worked with
proprietary software such as Framemaker, Dreamweaver and such utilities.
Recently, my team decided to bring out their Release Notes and Technical
Bulletins in HTML using the DocBook format. They might later consider
using it as a Single Sourcing utility for generating the Release
Notes/Technical Bulletins in all the other formats such as PDF etc.,

My problem is I am new to both XML and DocBook. I used the e-Novative
DocBook environment as a sample. Also the Morphon XML Editor.

I need some guidance to start off on this journey. As also any
suggestions as to any free utilities that will convert the existing
files which are in .doc format into DocBook Format without the problem
of WordML. There are a large volume of such Technical Bulletins in doc
format.

I appreciate any suggestions and advise.

Thanks & regards,
Sarah
