IE5 does not support the current Working Draft of the XSL specification. I
suggest you read the archives of the XSList mailing list:

XSL-List info and archive:  http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list

They discuss the current limitations of IE5 and alternative XSL processing
packages.
