Don't know about interfaces (not being a C++ or java programmer I am not
sure what is meant by the term) but Simula is a OO language, with classes,
inheritance, hidden and protected attributes, virtual functions. Simula is
derived from AGOL 60. The first standard was Simula 67, and the latest is
Simula 87.
I know that it is not a well know language, but you did ask.

Of course Java is derived from Objective-C. Are there any non
Objective-C derived (or better yet, non-C-derived) languages that
have this concept? If so, it would be much easier to argue for its
inclusion in DocBook, even if I personally only want it for Java. :-)
