You could also use an application server that understands and can process XSLT 
pipelines, like AxKit (http://www.axkit.org).

I use this to render both a DocBook <book/> and DocBook <slides/> documents to 
both HTML and PDF.  See http://oscon.nachbaur.com/2004/slides.xml.  The HTML 
frames are all generated dynamically, and the PDF icon in the bottom-right of 
the screen is dynamically generated using FOP in an AxKit pipeline.
