I would still have assumed it would rely on 'Z' packet support in the stub
rather than diddling registers? That's more the "GDB way" I'd have thought?
I can't see any mailing list discussion on it FWIW, but then it could be
"in the pipeline" so yeah, you're right that asking the GDB people would be
a good idea.
