Re: 82558B works with RedBoot, but not in ping_test (recvfrom: Operation timed out)

I found that it was a problem only with 82558B !
When card with 82559 is used instead of 82558B,
ping_test works properly! All network tests now works too.

The question is:
Why network driver can't get ESA (MAC address) of 82559 ?
(two 82559 cards with the same result). Neither networking redboot,
nor ping_test cannot find ESA of my 82559 cards. RedBoot says:
"No network interfaces found!".
When we set ESA manually in ecos.ecc, all okay now.
Link is always Up, 100 Mbps, Full Duplex! I'm really happy :-)

With many thanks to Gary Thomas for responce,

Vladimir.

i82559_start 0 flg 47 Link = Down, 10 Mbps, Half Duplex
PING server 172.16.200.90

TxDone 0 13af40: KEY 156800 TxCB 1bb26c
recvfrom: Operation timed out --- Problem.
.........

Any network test don't works too.
May be difference between 82558 and 82559 not solved in network driver?

Thanks,

Vladimir
