Actually, its a little more specific than that. Its people have
problem installing eCos on M$ platforms. It can be made to work, but
life is much easier if you swap to Linux.

8.2 is too old. You need at least 8.3

If you have this, you probably don't need VC++ and wxWindows. You only
need those if you want to build the config tools from sources on M$
platforms.
