Hi Chris,
If this can make you feel better I get the same behavior. It usually
happens when there is a miss initialization of the hardware or if something
goes wrong with the lower layers of eCos such as a stack overflow. I am
actually thinking of buying a commercial debugger because of that problem.
However when everything goes well during the initialization, GDB is good
to use.
Best regards,
Pascal

Subject: [ECOS] Stop button on Insight
Does the stop button on the Insight debugger actually work?
Once I am running my eCos application pressing the stop button on
the Insight debugger does nothing for a while, then comes up with the
message:
'No response from target. Detach from target (and stop debugging it)?'.
Is this the same for everybody?
I am using Insight 5.0 with Win2K and my target is the E7T board.
This occurs with all version of Redboot I have tried, including the
original version downloaded from:
http://sources.redhat.com/ecos/boards/redbootbins/e7t/redboot.UU
Thanks,
Chris
