server_test in vmware

Help solicited.

I'm trying to run the server_test program in vmware 3.1 linux.

Vmware is configured for NAT type connection (virtual vmnet adapter on
192.168.2.1).

Target is booted on Redboot (configured for static ip 192.168.2.2).
Everything is
fine on the network side of the redboot target. I'm able to ping 192.168.2.2
from anywhere
on the network and also able to telnet to 9000.

Downloaded server_test program(ecos configured for static ip 192.168.2.3
both DHCP and BOOTP disabled) via
serial interface. Program starts off well and blocks at accept waiting for
connections.

Problem is I'm not able to connect to either 192.168.2.2:9000 (Redboot's
listen addr.)
nor to 192.168.2.3:7734 (server_test's listen addr.)
It's as though the network interface on target is completely dead.

As per the mail-archive, I configured the redboot's and the ecos'
applications' ip addresses to
be different.

I'm not too sure if this is a vmware network problem or something got to do
with ecos configuration.

Appreciate timely help on this.

Thanks and regards,
Vijai
