No.  You simply can't build a RedBoot configuration and then
expect to build the standard eCos test programs as well.

No, these are not related at all.  You may want to use RedBoot
as your first eCos application, but when you are ready to run
other eCos programs (applications), you'll need to use a
different template.

There has been quite a lot of traffic recently about the EB55
(and related boards).  Check the archives - someone else may
have already done some/most of the work for you.
