I had run into problems with eCos & cygwin due to line
endings in the past. The problem was with multi-line
macros, that ended with the "\" character. It seems
that this caused problems with the compiler when the
lines ended with the Microsoft <cr><lf>.
Some suggestions:
1. Cygwin has the ability to mount file systems in
binary or text mode; that may change this behavior.
2. convert file files with "dos2unix" or sed.
3. make the multi-line macros fit on a single line.
4. use linux.
