I guess this goes back to my last email. Is your ecos.ecc for a
different platform, ie not ppc? You don't want to mix up two different
configurations in the same directory.

Well, if i was you, i would talk to your supervisor and say, i want to
do this and this is why, and these are the benefits etc. When my
trainees come to me and say things like that, i say, great, that
sounds good, go for it, but make a backup first! Or it will explain
why its a bad idea and probably make a different suggestion. Either
way you learn, which is the whole point of being a trainee.
