The testing of eCos 3.0 beta 1 on pc_i82559 has revealed no major issues.
I was booting RedBoot from a 3.5" diskette.
A selection of eCos tests including the HAL tests run correctly. The
eCos example applications build and execute correctly. Per-thread
debugging and Ctrl-C over both serial and ethernet connections is
functional. Debugging of eCos networking applications over ethernet
(port sharing) is also working.
There are issues with the POSIX signal1 and signal3 tests which have
been reported previously (Bugzilla 1000689 and Bugzilla 1000690).
There is a minor issue with the downloading of ELF images at the RedBoot
prompt (Bugzilla 1000711). There is also a problem with RedBoot command
history numbering (Bugzilla 1000714).
