Can someone explain the purpose of CYG_OFFSETOFBASE and CYG_CLASSFROMBASE?

Hi,

I'm confused with the two macros defined in 
packages/infra/current/include/clist.hxx

I can't understand their purpose, so I tested them with a simple test code. CYG_OFFSETOFBASE is always 0.

Can someone explain them?
