Is any test suite or program for testing changes applied to ecos
available ?
If so, I'm willing to do some further testing on an e7t board (I assume
that such a test program if any is ready to compile and run)...

Sure! eCos comes with quite a number of tests in the kernel that should go a long way to confirm this.
