    Which change?  As far as I can tell, ending-run.exp was a HP contributed
    test case that was added into the GDB testsuite tree when Cygnus merged
    it back in 1998.  I haven't seen anything in Cygnus snapshot versions
    that might indicate a test case regression introduced later on by HP.
    Since the HP WDB team does not work on remote debugging as much as other
    developers do, IMO it's just part of the test evolution to extend it
    to other platforms.  BTW the patch looks fine.

Perhaps I should have worded it differently.  The change that
contained the addition of that file.  That file originated at HP.

In fact, as part of merge HP contributed a *LARGE* number of testsuite
additions (which is a very good thing).

If I implied that this was a regression introduced by HP after the
merge, that was certainly not my intent.

I had the responsibility of merging the branch (where we temporarily
put the HP merge stuff in 1998) onto the trunk.  I don't remember (and
frankly I don't care to check) to see who put it onto the branch.

Internal to Cygnus Solutions (a Red Hat company), the merge of the HP
changes into GDB is somewhat infamous due to the pain that is involved
when doing a merge of that magnitude.  Cygnus (specifically, I and the
others involved), should have done a better job of merging the changes
in.
