Hi, and welcome. Happy to hear from you.
You are talking to "him". The official maintainer is
this list / newsgroup. Various individuals have responsibility
for various modules, but the appropriate thing to do is to
post your questions and patches here.

We would prefer to receive patches against the most recent
sources possible.

OK, please start by giving us an overview.
How extensive are your changes? How many source files
are affected? Would you be able to break the changes
into bite sized chunks? Will you be able to give reasons
for any changes that affect source files that are not
unique to your platform? And of course, most importantly,
have you filed a release of copyright?
