Puzzling. I've gotten it to build quite recently (like really early
this morning) on Solaris 2.7. But then, I was using Sun's compiler
for 64-bit (hence the patch) or gcc 2.8.1 for 32-bit. The only other
gotcha I encountered was that the version of GNU ranlib and ar that I
was using did not produce proper 64-bit files, and I had to use Sun's.
Has something more recent come up?
