Can I suggest.

something like:
dberlin-exptypesystem-YYYYMMDD-{branch,branchpoint}
it better reflects who created the branch, when and why (although I'm
guessing on the last one). Nothing is ``new'' for very long.
It would also be very helpful if you could post a more detailed
commentry on what you're planning on doing and why. Something like a
road map explaing where you are going. It would be really helpful if
you could explain what you eventually intend doing with all this code.
