Thanks for your patience. I've finally gotten around to testing your
patch on the following platforms: FreeBSD 4.2, NetBSD 1.4, NetBSD 1.5,
Solaris 8, UnixWare 7, Red Hat 7.1. I haven't found any regressions.
It is approved so long as you fix the strcmp() nit that I mentioned
in private email.
