Cygwin seems to be case-sensitive:

guitton@kerel ~
$ export FooBar=Bar

guitton@kerel ~
$ export FooBAR=BAR

guitton@kerel ~
$ echo $FooBar
Bar

guitton@kerel ~
$ echo $FooBAR
BAR
