Sparc v9 with Solaris 8

Attempting to edit a 64 bit executable. Loads symbol tables fine. Attempt to run, get this error:
Starting program: /home/csun/meta-g
procfs:4328 -- process not stopped.
procfs: ...giving up...
Seems not to like 64 offsets?
