Re: build/1458: compile failed on hpux11

Synopsis: compile failed on hpux11

State-Changed-From-To: suspended->feedback
State-Changed-By: chastain
State-Changed-When: Tue Dec 16 20:04:09 2003
State-Changed-Why:

    This bug has been fixed in gettext 0.13.

    The bug does not happen on my hppa2.0w-hp-hpux11.00 system with the gdb snapshot from 2003-02-16. This is not because intl/ has been refreshed, but because libiberty/ has been updated and libiberty/ does the first configuration test for "inline".

    Now my build goes as far as a configuration error in dejagnu. When I hide the dejagnu/ and expect/ directories, the build goes as far gdb/somsolib.c.

            cc -Wp,-H256000 -c -g  -D__HP_CURSES -Dvfork=fork   -I. -I/home/mec/gdb/
    source/gdb -I/home/mec/gdb/source/gdb/config -DLOCALEDIR="\"/home/mec/gdb/instal
    l/share/locale\"" -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I/home/mec/gdb/source/gdb/../include/opcode -
    I/home/mec/gdb/source/gdb/../readline/..  -I../bfd -I/home/mec/gdb/source/gdb/..
    /bfd  -I/home/mec/gdb/source/gdb/../include  -I../intl -I/home/mec/gdb/source/gd
    b/../intl  -DMI_OUT=1    /home/mec/gdb/source/gdb/somsolib.c
    cc: "/home/mec/gdb/source/gdb/somsolib.c", line 1065: error 1502: Array size must be a constant expression.

    Can you verify that the intl/ bug is fixed for you with the snapshot? Then file a new bug report for the next bug in the snapshot build, if you want.

    (If you just want to get work done, try building and installing gcc 3.3.2 first, and then use that to build gdb).
