State-Changed-Why:
Hello,
I'm writing about your PR about building gdb 5.3 on a freebsd machine without gettext.
Can you try gdb 6.1? I've successfully built it on native i386-unknown-freebsd4.9 and the logs say that gettext and makeinfo have never been called. I didn't even have to specify --disable-nls.
I can't uninstall these programs on the system I use for testing, but I did add poisoned versions to my $PATH and then checked the build logs carefully.
Thanks for reporting this.
