testsuite/gdb.cp has a lot of scripts that test ptype.
They all have their own infrastructure (or no infrastructure) to accommodate many flavors of ptype output.
virtfunc.exp is the most developed, but it still is very ungainly. We need a common lib/cp-support.exp that has a common, very smart "ptype" tester that operates on a skeleton of the class description and programmatically generates all the regular expressions for all the varieties of C++ compiler.
