Just checked on this after another crash, and discovered that I had not
used a 6.5 prerelease, even though at that time I thought I had the
latest prerelease. I just tried the current latest and have exactly the
same problem. /usr/local/bin/gdb --version gives
GNU gdb 6.5.50.20060529-cvs
...
