I tried this with cvs trunk gdb, and the Fedora 8 gdb
(based on 6.6). Everything worked fine.
So, I think whatever was wrong here has since been fixed.
FWIW I used the F8 gcc to compile the test.
I suppose there is still a possibility that there is a
compiler difference affecting the outcome.
