It does not stall.  But that depends on various random memory layouts so I
understand it may happen.

I see this message with FSF GDB:
Breakpoint 1, print_string (string=Cannot access memory at address 0x4008eb
) at kramer.f90:11

Therefore Ubuntu does not include the Fortran support.
