Debian GDB test results

These testsuite results are for a patched version of GCC, using the Debian
patches system compiler and binutils, for Debian/unstable (sid). I only run
the testsuite on architectures where I expect reasonably good results;
otherwise, as seen below, it is prone to hanging. Right now that's
i386, powerpc, alpha, s390, sparc, hppa, ia64. Those last two haven't
reported results yet. The HPPA port is using Randolph's patches, more or
less as posted this week.

All targets are GNU/Linux.

First, some analysis. The Debian-specific failures are:
  - up to seven failures in default.exp; the Debian version outputs
"No registers" because of some frame-related changes I've discussed
porting to the FSF sources but never had time for.
  - two in fileio.exp; the Debian packages build using 'fakeroot', which
simulates root priviledge, and these tests fail as root.
  - two in maint.exp; caused by long pathnames to build directories
  - one in mi-file.exp and mi2-file.exp; caused by relative pathnames to
    configure

That's:

FAIL: gdb.base/default.exp: disassemble
FAIL: gdb.base/default.exp: frame "f" abbreviation
FAIL: gdb.base/default.exp: frame
FAIL: gdb.base/default.exp: info args
FAIL: gdb.base/default.exp: info float
FAIL: gdb.base/default.exp: info locals
FAIL: gdb.base/default.exp: info vector
FAIL: gdb.base/fileio.exp: Open for write but no write permission returns EACCES
FAIL: gdb.base/fileio.exp: Unlinking a file in a directory w/o write access returns EACCES
FAIL: gdb.base/maint.exp: maint print psymbols
FAIL: gdb.base/maint.exp: maint print symbols
FAIL: gdb.mi/mi-file.exp: request path info of current source file (basics.c)
FAIL: gdb.mi/mi2-file.exp: request path info of current source file (basics.c)

I've deleted these from the listings below. They appear on every target.

Some of the remaining highlights:
bigcore.exp has two failures on i386, alpha, and sparc.

signal handling and threads are in a bad way on Alpha; schedlock.exp
fell over. So did tls.exp. Debian does not support TLS on Alpha,
IIRC, so I'm guessing the test just didn't fail gracefully.

unwinding has some issues on PowerPC; unwinding from the beginning or end
of functions is usually the cause of failures in the software watchpoints
  tests in recurse.exp.

I'm not sure why there are ovldbreak.exp failures on PowerPC. They are
  not new.

gdb669 failed on Sparc. Also, gcore-thread.exp failed in an interesting
way that produced a TCL error.

Something hung in the background on S/390, causing the testsuite to stall
(make waits for some process to finish, which never does). Normally this
means that a thread test ran away but that doesn't seem to be the case.
  I'll look at this.

signal handling also seems to be missing or broken for S/390 and PowerPC.

The test output:
