I patched this onto to gdb_6_1-branch and gave it a spin.
There were a lot of improvements, but regressions here:
gdb.base/callfuncs.exp
gdb.base/recurse.exp
gdb.base-hp/reg.exp
gdb.mi/mi-cli.exp
gdb.mi/mi2-cli.exp
This is moot now, but I thought it would be interesting to see.
