SUN WS Compiler C++ -> unknown/incomplet

Hi,
I am using the SUN Workshop C++ compiler 4.2 on Solaris 2.6
I cant examine any C++ classes or variables declared half way through
functions.

print foo ->
$1 = <incomplete type>

whatis foo ->
type = struct <unknown>

This is even when I use the -g -xs flags to the compiler. (I have previously had no
problems using gdb on Digital Unix or Solaris C compilers)

I have searched the WS compiler manual and the gdb docs.

Any help much appreciated,
