http://sources.redhat.com/ml/gdb/2002-07/msg00102.html It appears there has been some recent activity to get libunwind into GDB. Just one note on this, GDB's frame code (see gdb/frame-unwind.h) has been overhauled. Any GDB libunwind changes will likely also need a similar update.
