I can confirm that this happens on my system (Linux 2.6.14.4/Intel pentium-m)
with an unpatched glibc-2.4 as well. Wget and fetchmail currently refuse to
resolve any hostname at all. Curl on the other hand seems functional. I have not
been able to pinpoint the source of the problem, though...
