[Bug nptl/3096] New: nptl/sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/fork.c: line 138 assertion failure for kernel 2.4.33.1

kernel 2.4.33.1 was released yesterday (first of a 4-digit 2.4.x release).
system won't boot, with assertion failure at
  nptl/sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/fork.c: line 138
when trying to mount root file system, with glibc 2.3.6

I believe there is a fault somewhere detecting
whether the kernel is nptl-capable or not.
(it is a stock 2.4.33.1 kernel). Am patching the kernel
to report kernel version 2.4.33 without the extra ".1" .
