Bug #: 14520
Summary: Wildcards in hosts file
Product: glibc
Version: unspecified
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: libc
AssignedTo: unassigned@sourceware.org
ReportedBy: mightyiampresence@gmail.com
CC: drepper.fsp@gmail.com
Classification: Unclassified
It would be great to be able to use wildcards in the hosts file like:
"127.0.0.1 *.localhost".
This could serve some flexibility for web developers on their local test
machines and such in testing name based virtual hosts in their system. May have
other uses...
Thanks,
Shahar
