I agree on the accuracy point in general. In this case I had looked at
the code and it seems like the approximation is good enough for
practical purposes, ---

Random/RandLandau has the source (originally RANLAN in cernlib I think).
Looks like the approximation in the end regions could be improved with
a few extra terms if necessary.
