Well, GNU/Linux on non-i386 works well too. The Debian package(s)
I maintain (and build for i386) compile well enough on our other
platforms. From
http://buildd.debian.org/build.php?&pkg=gsl
and for the most recent release:
1.1.1-1 (hppa) (latest build at Mar 16 20:29: successful)
1.1.1-1 (ia64) (latest build at Mar 17 00:46: successful)
1.1.1-1 (powerpc) (latest build at Mar 16 21:05: successful)
1.1.1-1 (arm) (latest build at Mar 17 02:49: successful)
1.1.1-1 (mipsel) (latest build at Mar 17 02:25: successful)
1.1.1-1 (sparc) (latest build at Mar 17 04:17: successful)
1.1.1-1 (s390) (latest build at Mar 17 04:37: successful)
1.1.1-1 (m68k) (latest build at Apr 8 01:06: successful)
1.1.1-1 (alpha) (latest build at Mar 17 09:04: successful)
1.1.1-1 (mips) (latest build at Mar 17 09:36: successful)
The buildd machine has the detailed logs of all those builds (as well as
preceding ones).
But then again it doesn't prove anything for non-Linux systems.
