Dunno much about multithreading, etc. (been a while since I touched a
thread) but if you want Guile to run on Win32, you may want to try
compiling it using Cygnus's GNU-Win32 tools. This is a set of
GNU-derived tools that give a GNUish environment under Windows 95 and
Windows NT. gcc/g++ is included. If you can fiddle around with it, you
may have some guile binaries to work with. One hitch: it requires a
special DLL but that's freely distributable.

If I don't catch any flamage for plugging a "competing" product, might I
suggest Perl. Its syntax is a little weird but it's portable, free, and
embeddable. NT ports exist.
