[Richard Stallman <rms@gnu.org>] Help fight UCITA in Maryland before 10 April 2000!

There's a good article on Slashdot about the most effective way to
make calls like this: http://slashdot.org/features/00/02/17/0038235.shtml

I did a bunch of calls about encryption issues a while back. The
representatives were always glad to actually hear from one of their
constituents who could politely explain his position. If you're in
Maryland, please give it a try.

The Maryland lower house has approved UCITA;
there is a push to get the state senate to approve it
before the end of the legislative session, on April 10.

To rush the consideration of this bill is even more obviously foolish
than the bill itself. So if you live in Maryland, please phone or
write to your state senator, saying the senate should at least defer
UCITA for summer study, if it is not rejected outright.

If you know anyone in Maryland who deals with computers, please
forward this message to that person and ask for per support.
